RF2024: TREE OF LIFE
Tree of Life is an interactive installation that provides festival-goers with a peaceful respite from the festival's noise and commotion. Under the tree's canopy, visitors can sit down with others who need a break from the intense, sound-saturated environment typical of a festival. Inspired by nature and sustainability principles, this installation is designed to create a meaningful change in participants' experiences while promoting recycling and reflection on sustainability.
The installation consists of branches made from recycled materials such as discarded table legs and reused tent poles, with leaves made from strips of tent fabric. Both the tent poles and fabric are collected from previous festivals.
There will be four sets of headphones, all playing the same soundtrack. Users will be able to switch to another soundtrack with the press of a button fixed to the tree's trunk. The canopy will be illuminated by LEDs that change color and effect depending on the soundtrack being played. On the branches, LED lights in different colors will cast shadows on the ground when it is dark, resembling wind in the tree.
