3D Printing

At FabLab RUC we have 15 3D printers. We mainly use PLA filament as a material for printing. It is possible to print with other materials, but you need to ask us before changing filament.

Note that printing medium to large objects can take 3-6 hours.

FDM 3D Printers

• 8x Prusa i3 MK3S+ - 250 x 210 x 210 mm 2 with 0.8 mm nozzle

• 2x Creality CR-30 belt printers - 200 x 170 x ∞ mm

• 2x Bambu Lab X1 with AMS system - 256 × 256 × 256 mm

• 2x Artillery Sidewinder X1 - 300 x 300 x 400 mm

SLA 3D printers

• 1x Prusa SL1S - 120 x 68 x 150 mm

OBS special rules for SLA printer: may only be used with an employee. May only be used in fume cupboard. Remember to empty all resin out after print.

3D software

There are several programs that can be used to draw 3D objects. We recommend Fusion 360 (students and educators can get a free license) or Tinkercad (free online software).

Fusion is a more advanced tool with lots of functionalities while Tinkercad is a bit easier to use and good to create simple designs.

When you have finished your design save it as a .stl file.
